Our trips are designed for outdoor enthusiasts who want to explore rugged landscapes, develop technical driving skills, and experience the best of what Appalachia has to offer. Each expedition blends off-highway travel with unique activities like hiking, fishing, mountain biking, and cultural experiences.
All expeditions are self-sufficient, meaning participants must bring their own street legal off-road-capable 4x4 vehicles and gear. We provide expert guidance, detailed planning, and access to exclusive trails, campsites, and activities.
The Mountaineer
Duration: 2-3 days (typically Friday-Sunday)
Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate
Overview: This scenic multi-day adventure through mountaineer country is perfect for those looking to escape for a long weekend and explore some of the best overland routes in the region. Experience West Virginia as it was meant to be explored—by venturing deep into the Potomac Highlands, traversing unmaintained backroads, and camping beneath star-filled skies. Along the way, you’ll navigate challenging terrain, discover hidden waterfalls, and connect with the rich history and wild beauty of the Appalachian backcountry. With every turn, creek crossing, and mountain pass, you’ll gain not just new skills, but unforgettable memories of true mountaineer adventure.
